Thanks to whoever it was recommended (or at least mentioned) Matsuo Basho’s The Narrow Road to the North. I am enjoying it.

@JohnBrady I think it was you, actually. The timing was fortuitous with all the walking I'll be doing the next several months.

I just started it this morning after finishing The Abundance of Less. Apparently I just read whatever @JohnBrady tells me to now.

@jabel @JohnBrady Okay, you guys. I've got it on my list for possible purchase. It may be perfect for a retiree with wanderlust whose spouse just wants to stay home.

@jabel @Johnbrady This one sounds interesting too, I may have to read it too!

David Walbert

@ReaderJohn @JohnBrady @jabel If you are trying to keep wanderlust in check, do not read No Picnic on Mount Kenya. Italian POW in British Africa escapes only to climb the mountain and then sneak back into camp. Imagine if a Steve McQueen movie were a spiritual journey. I loved it, but it does make one suspect one is on the wrong side of the window.
